The total amount of bauxite resources in China has exceeded 4 billion tons

It can be seen that the exploration and development speed of domestic bauxite is higher than the consumption of domestic bauxite. Of course, this does not include alumina enterprises using imported bauxite. In 2012, China's total imported bauxite was 39.61 million tons, mainly used by alumina enterprises in Shandong.

It is understood that the exploration speed of domestic bauxite has increased in recent three years. On the one hand, it is driven by the demand for domestic bauxite due to the increase of domestic alumina production capacity. On the other hand, the risk of excessive dependence on foreign bauxite has attracted the attention of domestic alumina enterprises, which has led domestic enterprises and government departments to increase investment in domestic bauxite exploration and development.
